This is by far Chef David Malek’s favorite kitchen knife. If he could only have one knife he says this would be it. It’s the workhorse of the kitchen and in David’s opinion, no knife is better for the price. Fancy Japanese steel might be artisan-made and very nice (there is no doubt about it) but in a kitchen, you need a knife that you do not have to worry about with regard to dropping or using to cut through most items. This is that knife. It’s thick and strong and can handle a serious amount of work. You’ll have this knife or life. If you are a food service pro this knife will last years. There is nothing better.
